Savory Beef Grand-i-Oli with Roasted Garlic and Fresh Tomato Cream Sauce

  • Butter - ½ cup
  • Yellow onion, finely chopped - 1 cup
  • Roasted garlic, minced - 2 Tbsp
  • Tomatoes, peeled and seeded, ½” dice - 2 quarts
  • Heavy cream - ½ cup
  • Salt - 1 ½ tsp
  • Black pepper - 1 ½ tsp
  • Fresh basil, chopped - ½ cup
  • Parmesan cheese - ½ cup
  1. Melt butter and sauté onion until translucent.
  2. Add garlic and stir.
  3. Add tomatoes and simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes.
  4. Add heavy cream, salt and pepper and simmer for 2 more minutes stirring well.
  5. Cook Grand-i-Oli according to package cooking direction.
  6. Place a small amount of sauce on a plate and place 1 Grand-i-Oli on it..
  7. Place 1 ounce of sauce on Grand-i-Oli.
  8. Place 1 more Grand-i-Oli on the other on a slant and drizzle with 4 more ounces of sauce. Garnish with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves.
  9. Yield: Approximately 1 quart of sauce.
